The compact outdoor cooling unit
The MULTICOOL cooling unit was developed exclusively for air conditioning protective cabinets. The construction is designed for harsh industrial environments. A major advantage of MULTICOOL is that it can also be retrofitted to existing protective cabinets without changing the original IP class of the cabinet.
Since sensitive measurements require temperature conditions that are as consistent as possible, in regions with hot climates, cooling of the interior and, in winter, heating is necessary. INTERTEC offers both technologies in one device.
As part of a complete package, the MULTICOOL cooling unit is usually mounted to the outside wall of a protective cabinet or shelter. The components of the cooling unit are housed in a corrosion-resistant GRP housing of the MULTIBOX series.

Operation principle
The unit works on the principle of a compression refrigeration machine. It consists of compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. Together they form a closed cooling circuit in which the refrigerant circulates. An integrated thermostat continuously measures the air temperature in the cabinet and regulates the refrigeration system.
The internal and external circuits are separated from each other so that weather influences such as dust and splash water cannot enter the interior of the cabinet. The condenser in the external circuit is coated with a special anti-dust coating that ensures reliable protection against aggressive media.
This design also prevents condensation; only a small residue is discharged with the air flow via the external circuit.
