The VARICOOL unit was developed as an optional temperature maintenance solution for INTERTEC enclosures, cabinets and shelters. It is best suited for remote, off-grid applications: With its low operating voltage, it is perfect for decentralized locations with little or no power supply. However, it is also ideal as a cost-effective on-grid solution.
The VARICOOL is a cooling solution for decentralized systems and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Due to the low operating voltage, it can be operated solely with the optional photovoltaic modules (with or without battery). An optional AC/DC converter allows the VARICOOL to operate on any line voltage, if necessary. Since it is a small solution, retrofitting into INTERTEC enclosures and cabinets is no problem.
The VARICOOL can also be used in a cascaded configuration to provide more cooling capacity. This also makes it suitable for INTERTEC shelters and larger cabinets when thermal losses need to be compensated to a certain extent.
The unit works on the principle of vapor-compression refrigeration, which is also found in refrigerators. The unit consists of a compressor, an internal and an external heat exchanger. The internal and external components are fully protected to ensure that no harmful and corrosive substances can enter the cabinet/shelter. The internal heat exchanger is attached directly to a steel plate, which serves as a heat buffer. Using C-rails, the devices are then attached to the buffer, which absorbs their heat losses.
